Galapagos - soon!
4 days underway, and in death calms we used the engine for almost 2,2 days. It took us more than 6 weeks of maintenance and and waiting for spare parts in Panama, but it obviously liked it and makes no problems anymore. In the first night we sailed 6 hours through an area of thunderstorms with constant lightning and thunder in the night and have since then a brown and a white boobie visiting us regularly. This morning, Jipee, 74 miles north of the equator, some favourable wind finally arrived and we can steer now a more southerly course to gain east, so that we'll have no problems later with more unfavorable winds and the strong west setting current. Again, 2 more days, and we'll probably arrive in the "magic islands" (Moitessier).

Course south west
The ITCZ is north of us and the weather forecast promised us a light southerly wind. In reality we have none and the Pacific is flat like a lake. It's the first time for Bente and the children that they are really going out at sea. In the Caribbean land was never more than 1 day sailing time away.
